Who Are We?

The Local Guys – Pest Control is a family-built franchise established in 2019. From humble beginnings in Adelaide, South Australia, The Local Guys offers pest control services nationwide to offer all states and territories quality pest control solutions.

We are dedicated to providing the highest level of customer services, pest control services, transparency and convenience for all of our customers, with a simple start-to-finish process designed to give you complete peace of mind!

Our Divisional Franchise Partner: Meet Shaun Goulding

Prior to The Local Guys – Pest Control, Shaun Goulding worked in the motor vehicle industry as a member of the assembly body shop for Holden. When Holden announced its closure in South Australia, Shaun was made redundant in 2016. Seeking a new career, Shaun used his redundancy package to invest into a pest control franchise. Shaun knew the benefits of the pest control industry, such as the high profit margins, in addition to the stability and flexibility that a franchise could provide him and his family.

Shaun successfully grew his business and became popular locally. He built a strong client list and serviced a range of residential properties and businesses, such as large wineries, hotel groups, disability centres, and restaurants (national chains). He quickly became an expert in all thing’s pest control, from bed bugs to possums and everything in between.

Despite his success in the pest control industry, Shaun was eager for more responsibility and to grow his career to the next level. Shaun saw the success of Jarrad and Stacey’s quickly growing brand and the franchise model they had created and knew this was the path for him. As the Divisional Franchise Partner at The Local Guys, Shaun knew he could continue to successfully run his business, while also helping other people join and succeed in the pest control industry. This was when Shaun decided to move across from his current franchise and join The Local Guys team in 2021 as the Pest Control Divisional Franchise Partner.

A Decade of Experience: Meet Jarrad & Stacey Goulding

Jarrad and Stacey are the driving forces behind The Local Guys brand.

Prior to The Local Guys, Jarrad and Stacey both worked in various job roles. Jarrad travelled the world and experienced a range of opportunities until he found his passion in the service-based industry over 10 years ago. Stacey worked as a qualified accountant at a reputable firm.

As a married duo, Jarrad and Stacey have owned multiple hospitality and retail franchises and businesses. Having had previously been Franchise Partner’s themselves, Jarrad and Stacey worked in all areas of business (from marketing to accounting, all the way through to customer service).

As a result, these businesses enabled them to learn the franchise model from a Franchise Partner’s perspective. They quickly became aware of the positives and negatives of franchising and have used these experiences to shape The Local Guys brand. They know and understand what Franchise Partners are looking for in business and know what it takes to become a successful Franchise Partner.

However, with the desire to start a family and have a healthy work-life balance, they knew that the success and flexibility that the service-based industry could offer them outweighed all other possibilities… and so this is where they decided to focus their attention. As a result, Jarrad and Stacey have never been happier, and in 2020 they welcomed their first child into the world.

Jarrad has been working in the service-based industry for more than 10 years and has managed clients, ranging from small businesses to national companies. Over the decade, Jarrad has proudly won and managed many large tenders with government bodies and commercial businesses nationally. Additionally, Jarrad has trained and supported many technicians over the years.

Jarrad and his team are exceptionally passionate about the industry and franchising. It’s this depth of experience and passion that he shares with the Franchise Partners.

The Faces Behind The Brand: Meet The Support Centre Leaders

Meet Taylor: Taylor is our Administrator and Marketing Assistant. Taylor is responsible for all things customer management and sales marketing. Taylor is the first point of contact for our clients and prides herself on her customer service skills.

Meet Georgia: Georgia is our Franchise Recruitment Manager, who is responsible for all things onboarding and support for our Franchise Partners. Georgia is the first point of contact for our Franchise Partners and all potential franchise candidates.

About Our Technicians

At The Local Guys – Pest Control, all technicians are Franchise Partners. This means you are working with the owner of a small business local to your area, rather than just an employee. As a result, our technicians take pride in their business and are dedicated to providing the highest quality service possible to their clients.

All of our pest control technicians are required to have a current:

  • Police Clearance Check
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Full Pest Control Licencing to Operate
  • Driver’s Licence and Branded Vehicle
  • Gun Licence (where required)
  • Working Safely at Heights Certificate (where required)

All technicians are uniformed and have $20,000,000 in Public Liability Insurance.

Giving Back

At The Local Guys Pest Control, we believe in paying it forward, one meal at a time! We understand that business is important, however, we also believe it is important to give back to those in need. Every time we complete a pest control job for any of our clients, we donate $5 to World Vision Australia! This has been one of our practices since the beginning of The Local Guys brand and as a result we been fortunate enough to donate thousands of dollars to a wonderful cause.

World Vision Australia uses all donations within Australia to help bridge the gap in many of our Aboriginal communities. Our clients know when they work with The Local Guys Pest Control, not only are they protecting themselves, their homes and their businesses, but they are also giving back to the community.
