The Local Guys Pest Control was established in Adelaide, South Australia, in 2019. Our founders and senior team had already worked in the pest control industry for several years before the brand launched, bringing more than a decade of industry experience to the business.
Today, The Local Guys provides residential and commercial pest control services across Australia through a network of local franchise partners. Our focus is on professional pest management, clear communication and a straightforward service process from initial enquiry through to treatment and follow-up.

Prior to The Local Guys – Pest Control, Shaun Goulding worked in the motor vehicle industry as a member of the assembly body shop for Holden. When Holden announced its closure in South Australia, Shaun was made redundant in 2016. Seeking a new career, Shaun and his wife Renee used his redundancy package to invest into a pest control franchise. They knew the benefits of the pest control industry, such as the high profit margins, in addition to the stability and flexibility that a franchise could provide him and his family.
A Decade of Experience: Meet Jarrad Goulding & Stacey Goulding
Jarrad Goulding and Stacey Goulding are the driving forces behind The Local Guys brand.
Prior to The Local Guys, Jarrad and Stacey both worked in various job roles. Jarrad travelled the world and experienced a range of opportunities until he found his passion in the service-based industry over 10 years ago. Stacey worked as a qualified accountant at a reputable firm.

The Local Guys Pest Control operates through a network of local Franchise Partners who service their own areas across Australia. Our technicians are required to hold the licences, certifications and checks relevant to their role and location.
Depending on the work being carried out, these requirements may include:
- Current pest control licensing
- Police Clearance Check
- Working With Children Check
- First Aid Certificate
- Driver’s Licence
- Working Safely at Heights Certificate where required
- Other role-specific licences where required
Technicians operate in branded vehicles and The Local Guys network carries $20 million in public liability insurance.
