Inspection

Upon our arrival, you will be greeted by one of our friendly pest control technicians. Before we begin the inspection, we will discuss your pest issue with you. This ensures we are well informed so we can determine the best course of action. Some of the things we will discuss with you, include:

Once we have been informed of all the details, we will inspect all the areas of concern. This inspection will be different for each service. However, during every inspection we are not afraid to get down and dirty to ensure we are conducting a thorough and detailed inspection. Areas of inspection may include:

Treatment

Once the inspection has been completed, the pest control professional will inform the client of their findings and recommendations for treatment. We will provide several different options, based on the best course of action, budget and any other concerns you have.

Upon completion of the treatment, you will be provided with full reporting outlining the service and any other future recommendations to prevent future pest infestations. Yes! At The Local Guys – Pest Control, we are confident in our practices. This is why we offer free service periods on all of our services. The length of these warranty periods vary depending on the service provided. For example, a cockroach free service warranty is 3 months after the initial service date (conditions apply). Therefore, if you are still seeing live cockroach activity within this period of time, all you need to do is give us a call and the technician will return and retreat until the problem has been rectified to your satisfaction.

In regard to termite protection, we also deal with Australian leaders in termite management systems, such as Exterra. Exterra offers a $250,000 timber replacement warranty on homes that have their termite management system installed (conditions apply).

The Local Guys – Pest Control have a range of different payment options available. Not only do we take cash payments, but each technician also has EFTPOS payments available for on the day payment. Commercial businesses may pay on the day or receive an invoice to be paid at a later date (dependant on technician’s terms). We understand that pest control costs can be an unexpected outlay, therefore, we have payment plans available (conditions apply). Please discuss this with our technician for more details.

A pest control expert will always provide more effective results than a DIY treatment. Many people try DIY treatments because they believe it will be cheaper and more convenient… However, the reality of DIY pest treatments:

• Only provide temporary fixes: This may feel like you are saving money, however, as the issue is only being band-aided, in the long run you will spend more time and money trying to find the best treatment… and often eventually will call in a professional anyway. • Can be dangerous: When a professional pest controller treats your home, they are trained and experienced. DIY treatments can be dangerous when your inexperienced and dealing with dangerous chemicals and potentially dangerous pests.
• Are not used by someone with a trained eye: Anyone can use a DIY treatment without understanding what they are actually treating and the requirements to eradicate the concern effectively. A pest controller has been trained to correctly determine the best treatment plans for every situation.
• Can have legal ramifications: When dealing with protected species, such as possums, you need to be licenced and have the correct knowledge around government regulations set in place to protect Australia’s wildlife. For a short period after your treatment, you will still see pests as they are being forced from their hiding places. This is a part of the treatment process. Once you start seeing dead pests around your home, this is a sign of the treatment doing its job.

If, for any reason, you continue to see live activity within your free service period, notify your technician and they will happily come and retreat the problem areas, until your satisfaction.

Although unlikely, an odour can occur after a rodent baiting treatment. If this is the case, please notify your pest control technician. As a part of our free service period, we will return to your premise to rectify the concern.
