Lara sits about 18 km north-east of the Geelong CBD, inland from the Princes Freeway to Melbourne and about 6 km south of the You Yangs. The name comes from a Wadawurrung word linked to stone, and the town has grown into a large residential community on Geelong's northern fringe. Newer streets and estates sit beside older homes and rural edges, which is a classic pattern for rodent movement when paddocks and long grass are disturbed, and for German cockroaches arriving in moving boxes. Spiders remain a regular call-out around sheds and garden edges. We inspect first and tailor the treatment to your property.
Lara's position between Geelong and the Melbourne freeway corridor means ongoing residential growth beside open land. When ground is cleared or seasons change, rats and mice often seek roof voids and garages in finished homes. New households also bring cardboard and appliances — a common pathway for cockroaches. An early inspection after you move in gives a useful baseline.
